The Black Sea Experience
Turn your Eurovision trip into a proper coastal holiday. Discover historic towns, healing mud baths, and top-tier seafood.
📸 Must-See Landmarks in Burgas
Before you venture out of the city, make sure you check out the iconic spots right in Burgas that define its coastal charm.
- The Sea Garden (Morska Gradina): The absolute soul of Burgas. A massive, lush park stretching for kilometers along the coast. It's packed with cafes, open-air stages, and will likely be the epicenter of Eurovision side-events.
- The Pier (Mosta): The iconic T-shaped bridge extending nearly 300 meters into the Black Sea. A sunset walk here is mandatory for any visitor.
- St. Anastasia Island: Take a short boat trip from the Port of Burgas to this tiny, volcanic island. It has a fascinating history (it was once a prison!), a lighthouse, and a fantastic little seafood restaurant.
🏰 Day Trip: Old Nessebar
A UNESCO World Heritage site located just 40 minutes north of Burgas. Walk through ancient ruins and dine on the peninsula overlooking the sea.
🧂 Wellness: Burgas Salt Pans (Pink Lakes)
A unique local experience. Float in the hyper-saline pink pools and cover yourself in healing black mud—all just a short bike ride from the Sea Garden.
🍷 Local Gastronomy: Top 3 Seafood Spots
Bulgarian coastal cuisine relies heavily on fresh Black Sea fish, mussels, and incredible local wines. We strictly follow the "Rule of 3" — here are the only spots you need to know.
🍽️ What to Try in May (Local Burgas Cuisine)
- Tsatsa (Цаца) with Cold Beer: The absolute staple of the Bulgarian coast. Small, salty fried sprat fish eaten whole like French fries. You haven't been to Burgas if you haven't eaten Tsatsa on the beach.
- Black Sea Mussels (Черноморски миди): May is a fantastic season for local mussels. Try them steamed with white wine and garlic, or traditional "Midi s oriz" (mussels with rice).
- Ribena Chorba (Рибена чорба): A rich, traditional fish soup made from freshly caught local fish, often served with a side of spicy garlic vinegar to add to taste.
- Tarator (Таратор): A refreshing cold soup made of Bulgarian yogurt, cucumbers, garlic, dill, and walnuts. Perfect for warm May afternoons before heading to the EuroClub.
