If you are packing your bags for Eurovision 2027, you are probably wondering what the weather is like on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast in May.

Sun, Sea, and Spring Breezes

May is traditionally the start of the tourist season in Burgas. While the sea water is usually too cold for swimming (around 15-17°C), the air temperature is incredibly pleasant.

Expect daytime highs of 20°C to 24°C (68°F - 75°F). It is perfect weather for walking through the Sea Garden, sitting at outdoor cafes in the city center, and exploring the ancient towns of Nessebar and Sozopol without the intense heat of August.

Pack Layers

While the days are sunny and warm, the evenings near the sea can get chilly. The famous “морски бриз” (sea breeze) kicks in during the afternoon. When the sun goes down, temperatures can drop to 12°C-14°C.

Make sure to pack a light jacket, a hoodie, or a windbreaker for those late-night walks back from the EuroClub or Arena Burgas.

Rain?

May usually sees a few spring showers, but they rarely last long. A small travel umbrella is a good idea, just in case you get caught in a quick rainstorm while waiting in line for the Grand Final.
