✈️ Flying into Burgas (BOJ)
Burgas Airport is only 10 km from the city center. During the event week, expect high demand for official taxis.
- Public Bus: Line No. 15 runs every 20-30 minutes. Costs ~1.50 BGN.
- Official Taxi: Eko Taxi is the official airport partner.
- Private Transfer: Highly recommended. Book a driver with a name sign to avoid waiting in line.
🚌 Intercity Buses (Sofia, Varna, Plovdiv & Istanbul)
If you fly into a different major city, taking a bus is the most affordable way to reach Burgas.
- Sofia to Burgas: ~5 hours via the highway. Extremely popular route.
- Plovdiv to Burgas: ~3.5 hours.
- Varna to Burgas: ~2 hours along the scenic coastal road.
- Istanbul (IST) to Burgas: ~4-5 hours depending on the Dereköy border crossing. Demand will be insane, book months in advance.
Insider Note: Use Omio or FlixBus to book tickets in advance. Local Bulgarian bus companies (like Union Ivkoni or Enturtrans) sell out very fast during summer events.
🚗 Rent a Car: The Ultimate Freedom
Don't just stay in your hotel room between Eurovision rehearsals and the Grand Final. Renting a car gives you the freedom to explore the entire coast, from the ancient ruins of Nessebar to the wild beaches south of Sozopol.
